The assistive technology tools provided through the Illinois WIG projects accomplish part of the job of enabling job seekers with disabilities to use web sites — in order to actually be accessible, sites must be designed to be compatible with these tools.
To help ensure that Illinois web sites can be made accessible, Illinois established the Illinois Web Accessibility Standards (IWAS). This page provides links to the latest versions of these standards, a training slide show, tools that can be used in testing accessibility, and exercises that can be used by web developers working to learn and understand how to make their web sites accessible.
