The 10 Minute Resume site is a free online resource to help job seekers develop a quality resume. Expert advice and tips are available in each section to aid jobseekers in selecting the proper phrase or action word for their resume or cover letter. The user also has the flexibility to make all, part, or none of their resume available for viewing by potential employers. The site also offers services for a fee.
The site has several usability issues, which are amplified for assistive technology users. As user can pass the home page without logging in, but cannot quickly reach the resume creation section without first returning to the home page. Also, registered users must log in using a different screen than new users, and it is unclear how to access the correct page. A number of sections lack alternate text on images and image links. Similarly, in places where alt text is present, it often differs from the text shown on the screen, which can create confusion for certain users.
