CareerSite brings the power of hometown newspapers, classified advertising, local business relationships, and interactivity together to provide new tools and services to job seekers and employers. Job seekers can access detailed company information, get advice about managing a career, conduct a job search, and develop an online resume.
The accessibility of CareerSite is fair. However, the lack of alternate text on images makes the site nearly unusable for screen reader users. Also, a "skip navigation" link would make browsing more efficient for certain keyboard and screen reader users. With the simple addition of appropriate alternate text for all images (particularly image links), the site would be very accessiblemand a good example of accessible design. Without alt text, the site is frustrating to use and requires considerable patience for some assistive technology users.
