Illinois Work Incentive Grant
Assistive Technology Support Site

Site: EmploymentGuide.com (http://www.employmentguide.com/)
Reviewed: December 2003

Overview:

If you are looking for an entry-level job or a mid-management position, EmploymentGuide.com can help. Simply complete an application and they will send it to matching employers in your area. Once you’ve set up an account on EmploymentGuide.com you can check the status of the jobs that you have applied for through the use the Job Tracker.

Accessibility:

The accessibility of the EmploymentGuide.com site is fair to poor. Images rarely have alternate text, which can cause confusion for all users, particularly those with screen readers. The Flash navigation (main site navigation bar) is inaccessible to most assitive technologies, and the lack of a "skip navigation" link makes the pages frustrating to use when the navigation at the top of the page is read each time a new page is loaded. Searching for jobs using an accessibility product requires some resourcefulness, requiring the user to be savvy enough to access the "Advanced Search" option to avoid the map of the United States, and select the desired state and location from drop-down lists.
