Description:Using a large monitor is the simplest method of enlarging the information displayed on a computer.
The height of text or images on a 21-inch monitor is approximately 150% the size of the equivalent items on a typical 15-inch monitor. Installation Notes:For a large monitor to provide magnification, the screen resolution setting of the computer must NOT be increased. For a compromise between maximum magnification AND compatibility with typical software and web sites, a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels is recommended. Adjusting Screen ResolutionTo adjust screen resolution in Windows 2000, open Control Panel, Display, Settings and set screen area or resolution to "800 by 600 pixels." For detailed instructions, see: Microsoft Accessibility Step by Step Tutorials: Switching to a Lower Screen Resolution (http://www.microsoft.com/enable/training/windows2000/lowerres.htm) Note: Do not use the Control Panel, Display, Settings Advanced button to change the system font size, or "dpi," setting - doing so may cause some programs and web sites to malfunction. ErgonomicsBe sure that the large monitor is not placed too high - for optimal viewing, the top of the monitor's screen should be approximately level with the user's eyes. |
